The Team

 

Although we have a large team of 30+ full time staff, the staff structure is very easy to follow. All rooms have a head and a deputy plus senior and junior team members.

OFSTED REQUIREMENTS

The registered person ensures that:

all supervisors hold a level 3 qualification appropriate for the care or development of children. Where this cannot be achieved immediately, providers set out an action plan detailing how they intend to meet this criterion and in what timescale. Ofsted will consider the plan offering their approval or indicating aspects that need improvements;

at least half of all other childcare staff hold a level 2 qualification appropriate for the care or development of children;

all staff have induction training which includes health and safety and child protection policies and procedures in their first week of employment;

trainees under 17 years of age are supervised at all times and are not counted in the staffing ratios: Where the registered person is satisfied that trainees of 17 years or over are competent and responsible, they may be included in staffing ratios.

Our actual team consists of:

70% Fully qualified staff at level 3 or above

20% Part qualified staff at level 2 and studying for the level 3

10% these staff are juniors working to the NVQ level 2

ALL room have at least one qualified first aider all though most girls hold the certificate anyway. There is also trained child protection officers, special needs coordinators, curriculum coordinators and a fire marshal.
